Welcome To Chalet Le Bois Rond
Chalet Le Bois Rond is a comfortable spacious chalet nestled in a secluded location in the trees of Taconnaz at the foot of Mont Blanc. Surrounded by the highest mountains of the Alpes, and with panoramic views of the entire Chamonix valley, it is an ideal base from which to explore the different areas which contribute to make this one of the most popular summer and winter mountain sports resorts in the world.
The chalet is set in its own garden at the end of a short cul-de-sac making it especially suitable for families with young children. There is a large open log fire, leather sofas and a 3m long solid oak dining table. Accommodation is generous sleeping up to 11 in 5 bedrooms. Its South facing balcony looks directly up at the Aiguille Du Gouter which must be tackled on various routes to the summit of Mont Blanc.
As well as a fully equipped kitchen there is a large laundry with washing machine and tumble dryer and lots of room to dry out gear after a day on the hill.
Chalet description
The chalet provides 140sqm of living space in grounds of 1250sqm in the quiet residential area of Taconnaz.
The World Cup Downhill resort of Les Houches and its tree lined skiing is a mile or so down the valley and Chamonix town is 5 minutes up the valley by car.
There are 5 bedrooms - 2 with double beds, 2 twins and a triple (1 double bed and 1 single).
There is a bathroom with shower over bath and twin basins, a shower and basin in the laundry and 2 separate wc's. (Please note there are no en-suite bedrooms.)
The lounge and dining area is a large airy open plan space with leather sofas, high beamed ceilings, large open fire and a 3m long handmade solid oak dining table.
The south facing balcony is accessed from the lounge and looks directly up to "Les Aiguilles de Chamonix" - the row of mountains whose precipitous North faces tower over the town.
Surrounded by mountains named after the earliest pioneers of mountaineering...Mummery, Whymper, Ravanel, and others...the majesty and history of this place will touch all those who visit in some way or another.
