Chalet Description
Chalet Maya was built in 2006 in a traditional alpine style with urban chic interior design. The chalet is located in Argentiere, close to the largest ski area - Les Grand Montets and with a fabulous view of Mont Blanc from its extensive balcony. Other features include a large open plan living/dining area, roaring fire, outdoor hot tub on the deck, separate games room, flat screen TV/DVD, X-box and wireless internet access with PC.
The chalet sleeps 12 guests in 6 bedrooms, all with luxury en-suite bathrooms. These contemporary styled rooms come equipped with high quality bedlinen, fluffy towels, bathrobes and Molton Brown toiletries.
Guests will enjoy the famous Mountain Retreats service which includes gourmet 4 course dinners, fine wines, complimentary bar at all times and transport provided by the Mountain Retreats people carrier. What holiday makers thought about it! - Winter 2008
Dear Kevin,
We had a fantastic stay at Chalet Maya. The staff Jamie and Robin were exceptional - friendly, accommodating, incredibly helpful and great company - and the food was out of this world. The owners were lovely too.
Our group ranged in age from 4yrs to 65+ yrs and everyone was singing the praises of the holiday (a great relief to me seeing as I planned it all!) - a pretty good indication that we were all well catered for, whatever our needs.
The Chalet was all that we expected and more besides. The only real downside was that one of the bedrooms, advertised as a twin, was very much on the small side and even for our two small children it wasn't really suitable, with little or no floorspace between the beds. This was overcome for our group by the owners opening up the very large basement bedroom for us to use - we didn't then need to use the small room at all. The rest of the chalet was superb - spacious yet cosy, wonderful views, great layout upstairs and the basement games room a big hit with the kids.
The range of skiing available was great (our kids were learning for the first time and some of our party were experienced skiers - all were well catered for), transport provided by the chalet was a godsend and very flexible to fit in with our plans, the location was super (the kids sledged at the back of the chalet every afternoon) and the train and bus services were very convenient for skiing and exploring the Chamoix valley. Two of our party didn't ski at all but found lots of alternatives to keep themselves occupied.
All in all, a truly memorable holiday - great location, great skiing, great chalet, great food and most importantly of all, fantastic staff at the chalet.

Replies by the owner to questions
A couple of the bedrooms in Chalet Maya are small - in particular
the one Sara was talking about and is often used as a double giving more
floor space - it has the same quality/size shower room and built in
cupboards. As explained above the chalet has a large basement room which
could take 3 people and none of the staff live in the chalet.
