Chalet Chamois is a recently upgraded traditional Chamonix chalet. Split over two levels the three bedrooms comfortably accommodate up to 6 adults (7 incl children). The triple-windowed living area is open-plan and faces SW to the stunning Massif du Mont Blanc. French doors lead to the 30ft double-aspect balcony and provide superb views over the garden to the Bosson glacier, the Aiguille du Midi and Mont Blanc itself. A modern fully-fitted kitchen has everything you'll need and there is parking for 3/4 cars.
The chalet is available on a self-catering basis that can be upgraded locally to partially or fully catered if you wish. Best of all we operate a FLEXIBLE DATES* booking and pricing policy. This means you can choose exactly the days you want to stay and are not constrained to week-long trips and expensive weekend-only flights. For example why not join us for a Thursday to Monday long weekend instead of a traditional Saturday-Saturday holiday - maximum enjoyment with low flight costs, uncrowded airports and minimal time off work.
Chalet Chamois is geared up for and specifically targeted at small groups of friends and families. With the subtle blend of traditional style and modern conveniences we're sure you'll enjoy your stay!
Chalet description
Chalet Chamois forms the upper two floors of a traditional Savoyard chalet in the Les Bossons ‘commune’ of Chamonix. During 2007 the chalet underwent an extensive renovation program to upgrade the internal decor, fixtures and fittings. The result is a pleasing blend of contemporary design and convenience within a traditional chalet setting - a comfortable home-from-home haven for however you want to spend your time in Chamonix.
Internally the chalet has 7 beds in 3 bedrooms on two levels and is particularly well suited for families with children or smaller groups of friends. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, built-in storage and views down the valley. The two upstairs bedrooms interconnect and comprise a large family room with double and single bed, and a twin room of two single beds.
The large triple-windowed lounge/dining kitchen has stunning unobstructed views to Mont Blanc, the Aiguille du Midi and the rest of the Massif du Mont Blanc. Accessed from the lounge via traditional french doors is a large 7/8ths balcony that extends around most of two sides of the chalet at first floor level. The fully-fitted kitchen is modern and fresh with a small utility room off. A spacious bathroom and separate wc complete the internal layout.
Externally the chalet sits on a SW facing plot of approximately 1,200m² laid mostly to lawn. There is parking for 3/4 cars and the shuttle bus to and from the ski slopes stops just 40 yards away. Access to the slopes by car is straightforward via the nearby route-national and decent supermarkets are within easy reach without having to park in the centre of town.
The family-oriented residential commune of Les Bossons is on the south-west side of Chamonix town and is relatively undiscovered and unspoiled by mainstream tourism. (Think individual chalets on their own plots rather than blocks of apartments in ‘Residences’). Courmayer is just through the Mont Blanc tunnel and Geneva Airport is just over an hour away if you’re obeying the speed limits - under an hour if you’re not.
The chalet really is a charming little place - we’re sure you’ll find it a welcoming home.
Availability and Prices
We offer two simple pricing structures at Chalet Chamois - weekly rates and nightly rates.
Weekly rates mean 7 nights arriving on a Sunday and departing the next Sunday. These are the cheapest rate per night and the best value - see table for the exact costs.
Nightly rates are better for a short visit such as a weekend-break or a midweek visit. They are more flexible for you, but leave us with more unsold nights and so we sell them at a slightly more expensive rate-per-night, and also subject to a three-night minimum stay. They do however mean you can take advantage of cheaper midweek flights and this may well mean you save money overall. Flexible bookings are not generally available during peak demand periods of New Year and winter half-term.
To calculate the cost of a flexible date booking simply add the nightly rate for each individual night together. For example a 4-night stay in main season would be £680 (170+170+170+170). A similar 4-night stay that straddles a price change is calculated in the same way - for example 170+170+140+140.
If you have any problems interpreting the charts shown here please contact us and we'll be happy to answer our questions. For stays of longer than one week please email us with your arrival and departure dates and we'll work out an appropriate price for you.
