Chamonix chalet description

Chalet Remuaz is a beautiful luxury mountain chalet located only 10 minutes walking distance to downtown Chamonix. Sitting atop a southfacing hillside the 180 degree views of the Mont Blanc range are breathtaking.

To enter the very traditional alpine chalet you first have to 'duck' your head to enter through the 200 year old wooden door! This opens up onto a very warm dining/living room. The living area has a huge fireplace that is cozy and welcoming making for a great place to curl up with a good book or enjoy a glass of wine while relaxing in front of the fire. The high ceilings give a spacious feeling to the room. The adjacent kitchen has all the modern conveniences in a very tasteful chosen rustic decor.

The first floor also has two double bedrooms with contemporary ensuite bathrooms. One of the double rooms can even sleep 3 people very comfortably. (i.e. Parents who would like their child in the room with them). There is a seperate WC on this floor as well.

From the dining /living area there is a staircase leading to an undeground level where there is a laundry room with washer & dryer, extra storage space, and ski boot warmers.

From the living area there is a beautiful wooden staircase leading up to the second floor which opens up onto a lounge area. Soft cushy couches and a TV are good place for watching DVD's or playing board games. In this lounge area there is a very unique and extraordinary antique that is historically linked to Chamonix's existance!! Joseph Vallot's bed. Joseph Vallot was a famous scientist who answered many difficult questions pertaining to altitude, glaciology, and many more topics in relation to these powerful and mysterious mountains. His bed can be either used as a sofa, or as a bed for someone not residing in one of the three bedrooms. The third of which is found on this floor as well. There is also a south facing balcony from the lounge area.

Outside on the chalet grounds there is a picnic table overlooking the Mont Blanc range as well as a grassy area with lounge chairs to sit and soak in the view.
