Chalet Location 

Spectacular views up to the Aiguille du Midi greet you as you approach the peaceful and private location of Chalet Kate. Situated two minutes from the ski station of Les Houches, Chalet Kate boasts all the amenities of a modern chalet built in a traditional French style.

Chalet Description

One spacious double bedroom with a stylish modern ensuite bathroom is situated on the ground floor. Continuing into the chalet, you enter the light and airy open plan living space. With its double heighted ceiling and south facing windows, you are presented with stunning views of the Mont Blanc Massif. Leading off this area is a twin bedroom and separate bathroom/WC. The large child friendly mezzanine overlooking the living area has twin beds leading on to a second double bedroom with ensuite WC.

Chalet services 

From the moment of booking your holiday, we will be on hand to make sure that your experience with Alpine Ski and Golf Company will be as relaxed and stress free as possible.

As a small, privately run company our aim is to provide a very personal service. We will organise all your requirements, from lift passes on the table when you arrive to childcare and ski school pre booked on your arrival. We combine a relaxed and homely atmosphere with a professional service to ensure that your holiday runs smoothly and efficiently.

Chalet Cuisine

We believe that on your holiday you should be given the chance to experience a mouth-watering variety of both regional and classic French dishes. Using fresh, local produce, we have compiled a menu which is delicious and satisfying, that will provide the perfect end to a rewarding days skiing. This is your holiday so we will consult you about the menu before you arrive to ensure that you are satisfied that what we are providing is suitable for your family or group. For parties with children, if you prefer, we can provide a separate sitting with an alternative list of options. This will be agreed with you before arrival to make sure everyone is happy.

To start off your day we will provide an extensive breakfast offering you typically French foods with some home favourites. Greeted by a roaring fire, on you arrival back from the slopes, there will be a traditional tea laid out for you to see you through until dinner. Around 7pm, we will present you with a Kir as an aperitif to your evening meal. Following your three course dinner, we will offer you a glass of port to go with our selection of a different regional French cheese each evening, rounding off the meal with coffee and chocolates.

Breakfast is served 8am to 9am six days per week, allowing for staff day off where everything will be setup to serve yourself. We will serve you afternoon tea on return from the slopes six days per week. Your evening meal at 7.30pm is provided five nights out of seven to allow you more freedom on your holiday and the chance to sample some of the local restaurants. Wine

After many years in the hospitality industry and both keen wine enthusiasts, we have had lots of experience in both tasting and buying wine. After a trip to Bordeaux in 2007 we stumbled across a fantastic vineyard (Chateau Courtade-Dubuc) offering great wines and wishing to supply us direct. This means that not only do we have a great source for our wine, but we can also provide our guests with a standard of wine that would not usually be on offer in the house wine bracket.

We are also very pleased to be working with one of Chamonix's local wine suppliers - Verre Gourmand, where we have selected what we feel is a great choice of wines for you to enjoy with your evening meal. We have also choosen some fantastic wines to build up an extensive wine menu from both the chateau and the wine supplier, giving you the chance to upgrade to a superior wine at an additional cost.

Families

With our chalet situated in a child friendly resort and the chalet layout lending itself to families, we try to offer the best service possible to cater for groups of all ages.

To provide you with a stress-free holiday, we will discuss all aspects of your trip with you before you arrive, and pre book any of the requirements you have.

We will be happy to cater for children and babies at a separate time if you wish and before your arrival, we will make sure you have specified the foods that will best suit your family.

For those with young children, there is a ski school located just 5 minutes from the chalet with great facilities for 3 – 5 year olds. The snow garden with fun games and inflatable’s will ensure your child is able to learn while they play. Various packages are available at the ski school from private lessons to combined half day nursery with half day lessons. All provided with English speaking instructors, group lessons of no more than 8 and from the ages of 3 – 12.

There is also a crèche “Halte-Garderie” for children aged 3 months to 3 years in the centre of the village with qualified nannies in new adapted premises. Or if you have children between the ages of 3-10 who do not wish to ski there is the Les Chauants day nursery in Les Houches.

It is also possible for us to arrange private nannies and babysitting in the evening using an outside agency.
