Chamonix Chalet

Marmotte Mountain Retreat truly offers all a traditional ski holiday chalet experience. Whether you are seeking relaxation or extreme mountain adventures, we can tailor your holiday to your personal needs.

The chalet has an official 4 star rating from the Mairie de Chamonix, Mont Blanc. It comprises of four separate bedrooms and sleeps 8 comfortably with facilities for infants.

The top floor comprises of a spacious master bedroom with breath taking views of the mountains and surrounding forest from the upper level balcony. It has a luxurious en-suite with a large bath and shower so you can totally unwind after a full day of adventures.

Adjacent to the master bedroom, there is double room that also enjoys the stunning views of the mountains and forest. Two large twin rooms and a separate bathroom, with shower and bath, complete the upstairs living area. These rooms have beautiful window views of the gentle running mountain stream that flows past the chalet.

Downstairs, the large open log fireplace is the centrepiece to the open plan living area, with heated flooring. Comfortable sofas and sitting chairs are placed to enable you to soak up the beautiful forest surroundings. During the evenings, guests can enjoy the chalet's in house cd player, DVD player (with extensive DVD library) or use the variety of board games that are freely available.

Argentiere Location

Ideally situated in the 18th century Savoyarde village of Argentiere, it would be difficult to find a better located chalet throughout the entire Chamonix valley. Set back from the village centre, in the lush surroundings of French pine forest, Marmotte Mountain Retreat is a luxury mountain paradise and place of immense beauty for all who visit.

Two mountain streams flow past either side of the chalet, greatly adding to the ambience of being tucked away in a real mountain retreat hideout. An outdoor hot tub has been installed adjacent to one of these mountain streams so guests are able to get out and really enjoy the amazing views and beautiful surroundings of the chalet, all from the comfort and warmth of the hot bubbles.

Not only are guests spoilt with the spectacular forest setting, Marmotte Mountain Retreat is also only a short 5 minute stroll through the narrow, winding lanes of the village to the supermarket, restaurants and bars of Argentiere. For ski enthusiasts, you can also access Grand Montet's home trail from the chalet, located only a short distance away, with the possibility of a ski in - ski out holiday experience.

Luxury Service

Being a small, privately run company, we pride ourselves on being personally involved in the day-to-day running of the chalet, ensuring the very finest in quality service. We are happy to provide daily information on the ski terrain, current snow conditions, local attractions, restaurants, bars and entertainment.

Your host Jon, has been an avid skier and snowboarder for the past 10 years, five of these spent in the Chamonix/Courchevel region. He has great passion and enthusiasm for snowboarding and skiing, as well as an excellent knowledge of the local terrain. Therefore, he is able to help you to decide where to ski/board for the day, considering the current conditions.

Cuisine

Each morning we provide a full continental breakfast comprising of fresh bread and croissants, a selection of yogurts, cereals, local meats and cheeses, a large fruit bowl and freshly brewed tea and coffee. A cooked breakfast can be arranged for those who so desire.

Upon return to the chalet after your day on the mountain, you may help yourself to an afternoon tea made up of freshly baked cakes, muffins or cookies, tea and coffee or a nice cold beer from the chalet fridge to help you unwind.

For dinner, you will be served a delicious four course meal accompanied with a good selection of local French wines.

We are also able to cater for any special dietary requirements. Dinner is provided for 5 out of the 7 nights. This allows you the opportunity to also experience some of Chamonix's great fine dining restaurants which we can arrange for you.

A special children's menu is available for families and we offer separate dining times for children if so desired.

A fresh bowl of fruit is always available.

Family Chalet

Marmotte Mountain Retreat is a playground paradise for children. With its private forest location and open spaces, kids are able to safely play outside in the snow and the surrounding areas for hours.

The chalet also has a shelter with hay to house the frequently visiting deer. You can easily view the shelter from the chalet grounds which makes for great entertainment.

We offer many facilities to especially accommodate children. These include:

• Reliable child minding services.
  Special children's menu with separate dining times.
  DVD player (with extensive dvd library for children).
  Variety of board games.
  Toboggans/sleds for play outside the chalet.
  Shovels and spades to build and play with outside the chalet (snowmen, snow tunnels/caves can be built on the chalet doorstep)
  Arrange bookings for the panda club or ski school in Argentiere.
  Provide sleeping amenities for infants.
