About the chalet

The chalet is in the hamlet of Montroc  at the top of the Chamonix valley.  It is about 20 minutes drive from Chamonix, or less than 5 minutes, 1.5 km, to Argentiere -which is en-route to Chamonix - and is a large village with shops, bars, and restaurants.

The nearest skiing to the chalet is 1.5km further up the valley at Le Tour (La Balme ski area) which is a lovely warm up area with wide open pistes.  Then the  skiing at Argentiere (Les Grands Montets) the biggest ski area in the valley is about 3km from the chalet, 6 minutes drive. The ski bus stop is about 150m from the chalet (though if you book on a catered  basis we include minibus drop offs /pick ups for skiing anyway).

The train station in Montroc is about 500 m from the chalet.  (There is a single line railway which runs up and down the valley and through into Switzerland about once an hour. The train is free with the ski pass on part of the line including the section between Chamonix and Montroc).

As you enter the chalet there is a wood panelled hall leading to an attractive open kitchen, dining and small sitting area, with a cosy fireplace. Doors lead to a wonderful decked area and the incredible view. On this level there is also a double bedroom with shower room.  Upstairs there is another large sitting room and fireplace and flat screen television. There are also three further bedrooms - one double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and two twin bedrooms with shower rooms.

On the lower ground floor there are two double/twin bedrooms, and one shared bathroom.
