Apartment Marguerite is ski-in ski-out, just above the Prarion ski lift which gives quick and easy access to the summit of Les Houches ski area, where in winter there is user-friendly skiing for all levels, including the notorious Downhill Skiing World Cup ‘Kandahar Run’. Les Houches also remains open even during very heavy snowfall when the rest of the ski stations in the valley can close.
In summer the Prarion lift opens up some of the finest walking and running trails in the area and makes a logical start point for climbers looking to summit Mont Blanc via the very popular Goûter Route. It also delivers downhill mountain bikers to Les Houches custom built bike trails.
The garden faces east and south and catches the sun from morning till mid-afternoon. Once the sun dips behind the building it sets the Mont Blanc range alight and offers guests a spectacular view of the Western Europe’s highest mountain.
Guests also have use of the Haut de Chavants private swimming pool.
There is free, private underground parking and WiFi throughout the building.
Marguerite and many of the other apartments in the Haut de Chavants complex were run as a holiday resort by the French package holiday giant Pierre & Vacances until 2013.
INSIDE APARTMENT MARGUERITE
The apartment is built over one floor and offers spacious open-plan living.
The front door leads into the entry hallway where there is:
- Storage cupboard for coats and boots
- Bedroom 1: Double with wardrobe space for storage
- Bathroom 1: Bath with shower and washbasin
- Toilet: Separate toilet serves the kitchen area and bedroom 1
Entering the main living area there is:
- Kitchen area with dishwasher, four-ring hob, oven/grill, fridge and separate freezer, kettle, toaster & coffee machine
- Breakfast bar
- Dining table with room for eight guests
- Double French windows leading out onto the decking, garden and piste
- Lounge area with two sofas and a chair around a table – one sofa is a double sofa bed if needed
- TV with DVD and an assortment of French and UK channels, including BBC1 & 2.
- Bedroom 2: Double with wardrobe space for storage
- Bedroom 3: Bunkroom with two sets of bunks sleeping four people
- Bathroom 2: Bath with shower, double washbasins and toilet
- NB: Laundry is washed in the complex launderette. Tokens are required to operate the machines and are available in the apartment.
OUTSIDE APARTMENT MARGUERITE
The double glass French windows lead out on the decking area and garden lawn.
In summer the garden makes a lovely area from which to enjoy the mountain view and dine alfresco. It is safe for children as there are no vehicles, however the garden is not enclosed so small children could wander into the pastures and fields. The grass is well maintained.
In winter the garden acts more as an area to put skis on and off and from where, with a quick push, one is sliding off down to the lift at Prarion.

Well-behaved, fully-house-trained pets are welcome by prior arrangement.
Guests at the apartment have full use of the complex swimming pool, which is in the building next to the apartment and only 20m from the front door. The pool is approx. 10m x 4m and heated throughout the year.

The comfortable Apartment Marguerite is a mid-range, family-orientated, ski-in ski-out apartment with a swimming pool on the ground floor of the Marguerite's building in the Haut de Chavants complex.
