This luxury Chamonix apartment is on the second floor of one of the few apartment buildings with an outdoor residents swimming pool and sun terrace. It is located right in the very centre of Chamonix on historic Rue Dr Paccard, Chamonix's pedestrianised main shopping street, close to Place Balmat (the main square), and offers unrivalled access to the town's superb shops, restaurants, bars, nightlife, museums and other attractions, all right on its doorstep - only the nearby post office has a more central address! Lounge, kitchen and bedrooms have been refurbished and redecorated to a high standard in February 2007, the apartment is stylish and modern. It is an ideal base for all that Chamonix has to offer, with the Brevent lift a short walk away and the whole of the valley easily accessible by the in-resort ski bus stops only a minute from the apartment, yet its location and come-and-go ease of access make it additionally suited to families and to groups of mixed abilities or having different interests. The lounge is light and spacious, with floor to ceiling windows and doors offering access to a south-facing balcony and giving the room classic views of the Mont Blanc mountain range and the residents pool and sun terrace. Furnishings consist of two comfortable sofas, coffee table, entertainment unit with TV, DVD, Video and HiFi.
The long traditional dining table seats 8-10 comfortably and is ideal for entertaining - or simply to enjoy breakfast with fresh bread and warm croissants from the boulangerie across the street below plus a log burner fire. The open plan kitchen is neat and fully equipped with all modern conveniences including four-ring halogen hob, extractor fan, fridge, conventional oven and microwave oven, SMEG dishwasher, Bosch washer-dryer, kettle, toaster, and the full inventory of kitchenware: everything needed for full dining - if you can manage to drag yourself away from Chamonix's many fine restaurants on your doorstep, that is!
The master bedroom has twin beds that can be connected to form a double, with wardrobe in dark wood, and views of Mont Blanc and the Aiguille de Midi. En-suite is a bathroom with washbasin, bidet, WC and bath - perfect for relaxing soak after any day's activities. Bedroom 2 is has twin beds which can be zipped together to form a double, access to the bathroom, and views of Mont Blanc. Bedroom 3 also has connectable twin beds and views of Brevent. The coin de montage contains 2 bunk beds ideal for children with a curtain to block the light. There is a second brand newly renovated bathroom with a shower, wash basin and WC. All bedrooms have storage and mirrors. Hot water is permanently on tap, and the apartment is fully centrally heated.
There is a ski-locker in the apartment with ample room for skis, boards and boots, etc. Access to the building is by key code or key. Gated residents parking is also provided. The apartment is wheelchair and pushchair accessible (via the lift). This is a non-smoking apartment - but the balcony will suit smokers. The apartment also comes with a free wireless ADSL internet connection.
